About Pandit Gobinda Bose

Vidyacharya Pandit Gobinda Bose is a legendary figure in the field of RHYTHM of world. He was born in a traditional musical family and his father was SANGEETCHARYA PANDIT ANATH NATH BOSE ,who was the court musician of "RAIGARH STATE" and served RAJA CHAKRADHAR SINGH.

From the boyhood days, Gobinda Bose grew up in an melodious and rhythmic atmosphere, which helps him to build up his unique style of tabla playing . His elder brother, Late "PANDIT SHYAMAL BOSE ", the maestro of "BANARAS" "FARUKABAD" and "PUNJAB" GHARANA. A genius tabla player of his time, with distinct signs of talent and potentiality.

Pandit Gobinda Bose started his carrier as a tabla player under the guidance of his father Pandit Anath Nath Bose of "BANARAS GHARANA". Later he became the disciple of PADMABHUSHAN PANDIT JAYAN PRAKASH GHOSH , the most eminent and prominent tabla maestro of INDIA. Pandit Bose acquired the ace qualities and varieties of FARUKABAD , PUNJAB , and AAJRARA GHARANA from his world renown GURU.

Pandit Gobinda Bose has been a permanent staff artist in ALL INDIA RADIO for last THIRTY-FIVE years. He has given his SOLO performances in every distinguished and prestigious music conferences of different parts of India .

He had been to RUSSIA as a delegate for the Govt; of INDIA to participate in the BHARAT UTSAV held on 1987; He has participated several conferences held in UK, USA, CANADA, FRANCE, GERMANY , AFRICA and in other countries .

By virtue of MASTERY over his subject, he deeply engrossed himself in research on the ART OF TABLA playing along with eminent musicians of India. He has presented a number of LECTURE cum DEMONSTRATION on various aspects of percussion music in RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY, VISWA BHARATI UNIVERSITY, SANGEET RESEARCH ACADEMY, STATE MUSIC ACADEMY, RAJYA SANGEET ACADEMY

He is also the senior judge of master degree for the UNIVERSITIES.
