Our philosophy reveals our treasure. We owe to the Almighty, our omnipotent father, as we are born amidst Amrita. Very few are careful about it. Those few cherish every moment of their life and leave behind the ecstasy after they merge into equilibrium, they do not die, the simply cease to live on earth. We call them LEGEND. They dwell in the orbit and travel in search of eternity. The moment they find the tune, they simply disconnect the earthly connections, i.e., the MAYAS and become cynosure in the kingdom of heavenly courtyard. Indian cultural philosophy is the birthplace of stalwarts all around. They are born and paves the way for nourishment of talents throughout their lives. They are the real cynosure of our character. They are individual institutions. SIPRA BOSE is an institution by herself. Today she is no more with her physical existence amongst innumerable admirers but she is very much in our hearts which we cannot forget, as because, we feel it every moment. This feeling leads us to lay the FOUNDATION in her memory. It is our privilege to engage ourselves in the process of carrying the torch left behind by the LEGEND. SIPRA BOSE is an institution, who lit up the world of classical and light classical music during her lifetime and whose legacy is an abiding one.

Bidushi Sipra Bose is an Eminent personality in the world of Classical and Light Classical Music. Born on 9th November 1947, she distinguished herself even in her teens as a promising singer for the mature years under the able guidance of Shri Sunil Chakraborty and Shri Gopal Banerjee, renowned singers of yesteryears.

A disciple of legendry Late SANGEETACHARYA CHINMOY LAHIRI, Sipra has always upheld and enriched the traditional intricacies in rendering KHAYAL of the LUCKNOW GHARANA. Bidushi Sipra Bose, a fine songstress of rare quality, is most highly acclaimed for the rich heritage handed down from GURU SHISHYA PARAMPARA. She acquired the finest and rarest qualities of KHAYAL singing under his guidance for about THIRTY years. Her enchanting voice with its delicacy of Phrasing, lyrical grace, controlled eloquence made her every performance both musically rich and memorable. Sipra took Talim from her GURU not only in KHAYAL style of singing but also other traditional light Classical form of singing of LUKHNOW GHARANA like THUMRY, DADRA etc….

Sipra specialized herself singing "THUMRY", "DADRA", "GHAZALS" and other Light Classical varieties under the spiel of the inimitable peerless of LUKHNOW GHARANA, "BEGAM AKHTAR" , for about fifteen years. Her enunciation of URDU Lyrics, enriched by spontaneity of expression has put her in a niche of galaxy of GHAZAL singers...

For rare traditional composition like THUMRI ,DADRA, CHAITI”, KAJRI, TAPPA, BARAMASA" etc .Bidushi Sipra Bose sang with integrity, vitality, subtlety, and displayed the skill she has acquired from LATE SMT NAINA DEVI of the "BENARAS GHARANA", for TWENTY SEVEN years.

From the beginning of the 1980s, Bidushi Bose was under the able guidance of the great Legend of Indian Classical Music PANDIT RAVI SHANKAR of MAIHAR GHARANA...

Bidushi Bose has been performing with excellence in most of the Festivals of India for last forty five Years in her musical life. She has toured EUROPE and gave her recitals at ROYAL ALBERT HALL and QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL London. She mesmerized the audience with her performance. Her performance has been highly appreciated by the BRITISH MEDIA. She toured regularly other parts of the World like UK , USA, CANADA, GERMANY, USSR, FRANCE , AFRICA , AUSTRAILIA etc. ALL INDIA RADIO and DOORDARSHAN are the medias through which the music lovers and her fans get regularly thrilled for her exquisite compositions specially BHAJANS and RAAG PRODHAN Bengali regional songs.

The mellifluousness and rarity of her voice has already been recorded in LPs .No .:EASD1422 and EASD 1470 (stereos) EPs . and a lot of Audio Cassettes & CDs of H.M.V , MAGNA SOUND INDIA—AMUA KI CHANYAA MAIN ,"RHYME RECORDS"USA--AN EVENING WITH SIPRA BOSE got the GRAMMY nomination in the year of 2OO1-2002 for the first female north Indian classical vocalist , BASS MUSIC , BISWAS RECORDS USA , SONY MUSIC , NAVARAS MUSIC , SUN RECORDS INDIA etc which she richly deserved.

Her Husband, the noted TABLA-PLAYER "PANDIT GOBINDA BOSE" has been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to her. Although, they themselves seldom play together on stage, yet their mutual admiration has improved each others performance over the years…………………………………………………………..
